Longing for the Future

“Longing for the future” is a project of a full-length creative documentary about the last war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)․ The project is based on a 17-episode series of documentaries filmed in the summer of 2020 (a month before the outbreak of hostilities in the 44-day war). During these shootings, more than 170 interviews were made, detailed footage was filmed about almost all aspects of life in Artsakh ․ In frames of this project, we will return to our protagonists and will try to understand how their lives changed and how the war affected their mindset. The film will touch upon the themes of war crimes committed against the civilian population of Artsakh (bombing of settlements, the use of weapons of mass destruction prohibited by international law, etc.), displacement and identity. The film is intended to be shown at international venues.
